These standards define what Flex is and what it isn't.

Community Standards

Flex brings together e-bike riders from across the world: commuters, weekend explorers, and everyone in between. We built this community around a shared belief that every ride counts, and that moving by e-bike is a meaningful choice for people and the planet.

To keep this a space where every rider feels safe and welcome, we've set clear expectations for how we treat each other. These standards apply to everything shared on Flex activities, comments, and profiles, and they reflect both our values and our obligations under applicable laws, including Apple and Google App Store policies, GDPR, and the EU Digital Services Act. They are incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service and should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

We update these standards as the community grows. When we make significant changes, we'll let you know.

Our commitment to the community

Flex is a place to share your rides, track your progress, and connect with people who move the same way you do. We want every rider to feel comfortable posting freely, whether it's a 5 km commute or a 200 km weekend tour.

At the same time, we recognize that open communities come with responsibility. When we limit content or take action on an account, we do it to protect the experience for everyone else, not to silence anyone. Every moderation decision is made in service of keeping this a space where riders feel safe, respected, and motivated to keep going.

We don't take these decisions lightly. When context matters, we consider it.

Ride With Flex

Riding together means something, and a good community doesn't just happen. Here's what we commit to.

  • Ride honestly. Your data tells your story. Share real rides with accurate numbers. A 10 km commute matters just as much as a 100 km weekend adventure.
  • Lift others up. A comment or a like can make someone's day. Use your voice to encourage, not discourage.
  • Respect every rider's pace. Our community spans beginners finding their rhythm and elites chasing records. Every level belongs here.
  • Own your impact. Every ride is a choice for cleaner air and greener cities. That's worth celebrating and worth protecting.
  • Show up as yourself. Real connections are built on authenticity, not impressive stats.

What We Don't Allow

To protect this community, some behaviors are never acceptable on Flex. This list is not exhaustive; we reserve the right to take action on any content or behavior that undermines the safety and integrity of the community, even if not explicitly listed here.

  • Submitting rides with falsified GPS routes, distances, speeds, or power data.
  • Using external tools or devices to artificially inflate ride metrics.
  • Misrepresenting non-riding activity (e.g., driving a car) as an e-bike ride.

This includes data that appears implausible given the capabilities of standard e-bike hardware.

2. Spam and Repetitive Content

  • Posting duplicate or near-identical comments across multiple activities.
  • Promoting external products, services, or links in comments or profile bios.
  • Automated posting or bot activity of any kind.

  • Content that attacks or demeans individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
  • Symbols, imagery, or language associated with hate groups or movements.

5. Sexually Explicit or Inappropriate Content

  • Nudity or sexually explicit imagery in profile photos or activity posts.
  • Sexual comments directed at other users.

6. Privacy Violations

  • Sharing another person's personal information (name, address, phone number, etc.) without their consent.
  • Posting photos or location data that could identify or endanger another person.
  • Sharing content from private messages without the sender's permission.

7. Illegal Activity

  • Content that promotes, facilitates, or glorifies illegal acts.
  • Any activity that violates applicable laws in your jurisdiction.

8. Child Safety

Flex has zero tolerance for content that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers minors.

  • Nudity or sexually explicit content involving anyone under 18.
  • Content that sexualizes minors in any form, including illustrations or descriptions.
  • Any attempt to solicit, groom, or make contact with a minor for sexual purposes.

Such content will be removed immediately and reported to the relevant authorities as required by law. For details on how we handle personal data in these circumstances, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

9. Suicide, Self-Harm, and Eating Disorders

We do not allow content that promotes, glorifies, or provides instructions for suicide, self-harm, or disordered eating or exercise behaviors.

  • Depicting or encouraging self-harm or suicidal acts.

How We Handle Reports

We believe in fair, transparent moderation. Every report is reviewed by our team.

What happens after you report

  1. The reported content is hidden from your Feed immediately.
  2. Your report is always anonymous. The person you reported will never know it was you.
  3. We'll follow up with you. Once we've made a decision, you'll receive a notification with the outcome.

What happens to the reported content and account

  1. We review every report. Our team assesses the content against these Community Standards.
  2. If a violation is confirmed, the content is removed globally. It disappears from all public Feeds. The original poster can still see it in their own history, marked as removed, so they understand what happened.
  3. The person who posted is notified. We send an explanation of what was removed and why.
  4. Ride data is never affected. Moderation decisions do not impact streaks, weekly goal progress, or ride history for anyone involved.

Repeated or serious violations may lead to account suspension. In cases of severe or illegal violations, we reserve the right to permanently restrict community access. Ride data and EcoGem balances are not affected by moderation decisions. For details on how EcoGems are governed, please refer to our Reward Program Terms.
